security and freedom in the digital age

I think that there shouldn't be a balance of security and freedom. I believe that we should have a bit more security than freedom because sometimes when we take advantage of freedom we put ourselves in danger. Some examples of this endangerment are youtube and myspace. I think myspace is a safety hazard because most people are putting their true identities and information out there. Thats why you sometimes hear about people dying after someone had seen there profiles on myspace. teenagers have also been abducted because of their myspaces and their dumb decision to actually pour out every piece of confidential information. YouTube is definitley a safety hazard. Everyday a new member enters in a new video for youtube. But they're never careful of what they videotape thereselves doing. some teenagers who have a youtube accounts just have no type of regards for their safety. They're not aware of the sick perverts, rapist and pedophiles who are sometimes on the watch to find them. It seems as though websites like myspace and youtube have no certain limit to what can be put on there websites. Parents are a big part of the blame for all the kidnappings rapings and killings that happen. No I'm not being coldhearted towards those parents who have lost there children because of the internet. I'm just saying that while they're at work trying to put food on the table their kids are at home cyberchatting with people they've never seen before in there lives. I don't think that freedom should be an option because us teenagers take our limits, purposely forget about them and just do whatever we feel like doing. Another thing is that we really need to watch what we say. Sometimes when frends make comments on each others myspace that person that they're typing to don;t know wether their mad at them or just joking.
